Our research spans the breadth of fundamental plant sciences and the associated fields of crop science, renewable energy and biomaterials, synthetic biology and ecology. Through this research, we are tackling the urgent challenges facing the planet, from protecting biodiversity to feeding a growing global population. The University facilitates collaboration across departments and faculties via interdisciplinary research initiatives such as the Global Food Security IRC, Conservation Research Institute and Engineering Biology IRC. Strong connections with industry and research partners across the world enable us to harness the power of our research for real world applications and to train and upskill researchers and communities.
